Sri Lanka RHIYA Strategies

The RHIYA in Sri Lanka is breaking new ground in working with young people and adolescents. Building upon achievements made in the RHI, the RHIYA seeks to:

- increase the involvement of government agencies and NGOs in adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health activities,

- create a supportive and enabling environment and

- establish an information dissemination and service delivery mechanism.

The RHIYA in Sri Lanka consists of one programme, implemented by the Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka. Targeting an estimated total of 224,000 young people between the ages ten and 24, the project operates in 312 vulnerable and under-served sub-divisions in 19 districts in the country.
